It is my privilege to be a strong voice for our veterans in Congress. It is only because of the sacrifices of our veterans, as well as their families, that we live in a free country. The blessings we enjoy are only possible because of those who served in our armed forces to protect them.
America made a promise to those who served our country in uniform to care for them upon retirement. While I appreciate the hard work done by many at the VA, unfortunately, its self-protective bureaucracy does not at times live up to that commitment. As a member of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, I am laser-focused on delivering long-overdue justice for those impacted by contaminated water at Camp Lejeune, making hyperbaric oxygen therapy and other critical services at the VA available for those in need, and improving access to and the timely delivery of quality healthcare.
