Standing up for Farmers

I understand that food comes from farmers, not the grocery store. Agriculture is the cornerstone of Eastern North Carolina’s sustained prosperity. From turkeys and hogs to sweetpotatoes, peanuts, and cotton, our producers supply America and the world with high-quality products.

As a member of the House Ways and Means Committee and the Trade Subcommittee, advocating for our farmers is a top priority of mine. Through the Working Families Tax Cut, I fought to make the Death Tax permanent to ensure that family farms stay family-owned for generations. Further, I remain dedicated to expanding market access and ensuring that American agriculture can compete with global competitors. Last, I am proud to advocate for fair H-2A labor rates and cutting red tape to cut down on labor costs that drive up expenses for our operations.
